How To Manifest When You’re Depressed

Feeling depressed but still want to manifest? Here are 3 steps that will help you get out of your funk and start manifesting what you want.

Can You Manifest While Depressed?

Yes. You can manifest while depressed.

Your emotions are just a psychological response to the thoughts that you’re thinking.

When you feel negative emotions such as depression, it simply means the thoughts you are thinking right now are focused on not having your desire.

Think about it, wouldn’t you feel positive emotions if you were thinking about how good your life would be if your desire already manifested?

So whenever you feel depressed, it just means you need to change the direction of your thoughts.

You don’t have to do this immediately. Take your time to process your depression and then choose a better-feeling thought when you feel ready to do so.

Follow these steps below to gently restore your thoughts back to high vibration.

1. Use The Emotional Guidance Scale

Emotional Guidance Scale

The first step to manifesting when you’re feeling depressed is to refer to the Emotional Guidance Scale.

I wrote an entire blog post on how to use the Emotional Guidance Scale so head over there for more info.

But basically, the Emotional Guidance Scale helps you increase your vibration by reaching for an emotion that’s a slightly higher vibration than the one you’re currently feeling.

As I teach in my book Feeling Good, your vibration is your point of attraction.

By the Law of Attraction, you are always attracting things that are a vibrational match for you.

This is why there is such an emphasis on increasing and maintaining high vibration in the Law of Attraction practices.

But let’s be honest, it’s hard to jump from depression to joy. In fact, it’s almost impossible to do that in one step.

When you’re in a state of depression, the Law of Attraction will simply bring you more depressive thoughts and keep you there.

This is why it’s helpful to have a copy of the Emotional Guidance Scale on hand when raising your vibration.

Instead of trying to jump from depression (#22)  to joy (#1), you can try to shift from depression (#22) to guilt (#21) or jealousy (#20).

Every time you climb the scale, your vibration increases.

For example, let’s say you got into a fight with your partner and feel depressed. Shifting your emotion toward anger (#17) or blame (#15) will actually bring relief to you and increase your vibration!

Now don’t get me wrong, the goal is not to stay in anger or blame!

But making that shift from depression to blame will activate the Law of Attraction which will bring you more positive thoughts thereby raising your vibration to a higher frequency.

Soon you’ll be able to climb all the way back to the top and unblock all resistance to your manifestations.

2. Reach For Better-Feeling Thoughts

The second step to manifesting when you’re feeling depressed is to reach for better-feeling thoughts.

The way to increase your vibration (and therefore your point of attraction) is to reach for thoughts that feel better to you.

Look at the Emotional Guidance Scale and try to reach for a better-feeling emotion that is above your current emotion.

For example, let’s say your current emotion is powerlessness. Try to reach for thoughts of guilt, jealousy, or hatred.

There is nothing I can do to fix this situation. (powerlessness)

I feel terrible for what I said. (guilt)

I’m so jealous of my friends who are in stable committed relationships. (jealousy)

I hate how he/she treated me. (hatred)

And so on…

The more you reach for better-feeling thoughts, the more better-feeling thoughts will come to you.

Every thought that brings you a feeling of relief is an indication that you are lessening your resistance and raising your vibration.

The absence of resistance is what allows your desire to manifest into your reality.

After this step, go back to the Emotional Guidance Scale and check your vibration again.

You’ll be amazed at the vibrational leap you have made.

3. Use Manifestation Techniques When You Feel Better

The final step to manifesting when you’re feeling sad is to use manifestation techniques when you feel better.

The best time to manifest is when you’re already feeling good.

Why? Because feeling good means you can stay in alignment with your desire more consistently.

And maintaining vibrational alignment between you and your desire is the only way to manifest what you want.

So once you have used the previous steps to get your vibration back to a better place, it’s time to incorporate your favorite manifestation techniques into your practice.

My personal favorites are scripting, affirmations, and visualization.

But feel free to choose the techniques that resonate with you, like any of the 22 manifestation techniques from Abraham.

The secret to attracting what you want is to feel good before trying to manifest.

Nothing is more important than you feeling good.

Is it okay to manifest while feeling sad?

Yes. It’s okay to manifest while you are sad.

Manifesting is all about thinking about what you want and allowing it to come into your reality.

If you find yourself feeling sad during your manifestation, it means that you are focused on not having your desire rather than having it.

And you always manifest what you believe in.

If you believe you can’t manifest your desire, you won’t manifest it.

So use your sadness as guidance to change the direction of your thoughts!

There’s nothing wrong with feeling sad. All it is telling you is you must shift your thoughts if you want to continue to manifest what you want.

Yes. You can manifest even if you have anxiety.

The reason why you feel anxious is that you’re worried about what the future will look like.

In other words, it’s a sign that you’re not focused on having what you want.

So whenever you feel anxious, simply notice the feeling and use it as a form of internal guidance to change your thoughts.

Your anxiety is simply there to tell you, “Hey! Your thoughts are out of alignment with what you want. It’s time to change it!”
