The number one mistake people make when manifesting is focusing too much on the form—the physical manifestation of their desire.
Now don’t get me wrong, of course, you can manifest your desires into reality, but as I explain in Feeling Good, manifestation first occurs on an energetic level.
Manifesting is all about getting into vibrational alignment with your desire and then allowing that desire to come into form.
To identify the vibration you need to align with, you must go beyond the form and identify the feelings you want to experience.
Why? Because the way you feel is an absolute indicator of your vibration.
By going beyond the form of your desire and identifying the emotions that you want to feel, you will know exactly what you need to do to manifest what you want.
Your Desire Is Not What Attracts
It’s okay to hold grand visions of what you want to manifest, but it’s important to remember that your desire is not what attracts.
It’s the feelings behind the desire that do the attracting when it comes to manifesting.
This is the reason why two people can have the same desire but manifest two completely different outcomes.
Let me illustrate this using an example.
Person A and Person B want to manifest some money.
Person A wants to manifest money because he wants to experience the joy of being financially abundant.
Person B wants to manifest money because he is worried that he will not be able to pay his rent.
Although they share the same desire, the energies that are backing up their desire are wildly different; therefore, they will attract wildly different outcomes.
Person A will attract situations, people, and experiences that support his joy of being abundant.
Person B will attract situations, people, and experiences that support his worry.
As I teach in Manifesting Made Easy, you don’t manifest what you want, you manifest what you feel.
3 Steps To Manifesting Correctly
Over attachment to form is a mistake that a lot of manifestors make.
But don’t worry, I’m not just going to leave you hanging.
Let me give you 3 steps to set up your manifestation correctly so you never make this mistake again.
Step 1: Describe What You Want
The first step to manifesting correctly is to describe what you want.
As I teach in my manifestation course, the first step to manifesting anything is to get clear about what you want.
Being crystal clear about what you want to manifest helps you get into the feeling of that experience and attract it into your reality.
Whether you want to manifest money, a partner, or a job—write down the form of your desire exactly the way you want it.
Think of this step as sort of a brainstorming session to prepare for what’s to come.
Step 2: Clarify How You Want To Feel
The second step to manifesting correctly is to clarify how you want to feel.
In other words, what is your intention behind this manifestation?
This step is super important because manifesting is all about your energy.
You will attract people, objects, and situations that are a vibrational match with your feelings and emotions—your internal barometer for energy.
Use the Emotional Guidance Scale to clarify the feelings and emotions that are backing up your desire.
Ask yourself these questions to identify your intentions behind the desire.
- Why do you want to manifest this desire?
- How does this desire make me feel?
- How does this desire make others feel?
Different intentions result in different outcomes.
If your desire is backed by high vibrational energy like joy, happiness, or love, then you will attract positive outcomes that match your high-level energy.
But if your desire is backed by low vibrational energy like worry, jealousy, or fear, then you will attract negative outcomes that match your low-level energy.
If your desire is currently backed by negative energy, use the Emotional Guidance Scale to shift your vibration to a more positive place.
Step 3: Do Everything You Can To Support The Feeling You Desire
The final step to manifesting correctly is to do everything you can to support the feeling you desire.
Once you have clarified how you want to feel, it’s time to align yourself with the feeling of what you want to experience.
If you want to attract loving experiences and find romance, make sure you are loving yourself deeply and practicing self-love and self-care.
If you want to feel at peace with your finances, make sure you are treating your money with respect and being open to new ways of earning.
If you want to feel fulfilled by your career, make sure you are applying to jobs that you actually want and showing up to your current job with a positive attitude.
It may seem counterintuitive to feel as if you have already manifested your desire in the present moment.
But remember that your future is programmed in the present.
How you feel right now determines the type of outcomes you will experience in the future.
By living in the feeling of what you want to experience, you become a magnet for more of it.
