How To Start Your Spiritual Journey In 5 Steps

Do you want to go on a spiritual journey but have no idea where to start? Read this blog post and learn how to start your spiritual journey in 5 steps.

A spiritual journey is your path to consciousness or enlightenment. It’s a personal discovery of the truth of who you are, why you are here, and what you’re here to do.

Everyone has a spiritual path of their own, but it is up to the individual to decide whether to pursue it or not.

Everything you need to know is already contained within you.

The moment you give up the external search for answers and journey inwards—you begin your spiritual path.

Start your spiritual journey today by following these 5 steps.

Step 1: Ask The Big Questions

The first step to starting your spiritual journey is to ask the big questions in life that you want answers to.

In other words, what is it that you want to find out by going on your spiritual path?

Here are some common metaphysical questions that prompt people to go on their spiritual journey:

What is my purpose in life?

Where did I come from?

Why am I here?

How can I manifest my greatest dreams and desires?

What happens after I die?

Don’t be afraid of asking the tough questions or questions you don’t have the answers to yet.

These questions become the driving force that motivates you to dive deep into your spiritual journey so that you can find the answers.

Step 2: Be Open To New Perspectives

The second step to starting your spiritual journey is to be open to new perspectives.

As I explain in my self-help book, Feeling Good, your ego will do its best to block you from reconnecting with your highest truth.

You will be tempted to judge, dismiss, or ignore new perspectives because they are too “out there” or too “woo-woo.”

But don’t let your resistance block you from learning new ways of thinking just because they are radically different than what you’re used to.

The Universe (or God, Source, etc) is always revealing itself to you, but you can only hear this guidance if you are open to receiving it.

So approach your spiritual journey with an open heart and a willingness to learn.

Trust that every spiritual teacher, guru, and book that you come across contains a piece of that puzzle you’re searching for.

Step 3: Connect With Your Higher Self

The third step to starting your spiritual journey is to connect with your higher self.

Your higher self, also known as your intuition, is the essence of God within you.

Your higher self is deeply connected to the spiritual realm and it’s the medium through which you can receive universal guidance, spiritual wisdom, and creative ideas from God.

As you awaken, you will begin to feel more and more connected to your higher self.

You may feel called to do a certain thing with your life. You may feel pulled to connect with this certain individual. Or you may feel compelled to share your spiritual journey with others.

Every tug at your heart is a form of guidance from the Universe, leading you towards your true purpose in life.

The more you lean on your intuition, the more you allow the Universe to guide you through it.

Practice letting your higher self guide you with the small stuff, and soon you’ll find yourself co-creating your greatest desires confidently and effortlessly.

Step 4: Record Your Progress

The fourth step to starting your spiritual journey is to record your progress in a journal.

As I teach in my manifestation course, writing things down is essential if you want to achieve absolute clarity on anything.

The best way to record your growth as a spiritual student is to journal.

Write about the lessons you’ve learned. Write about your personal experiences and relationships. Write about the miracles and synchronicities you experience. Write about the truths you discover. Write about healing from past trauma or hurt.

Remember that this journal is a safe space for you to express your highest truth.

Whenever you feel stagnant or discouraged, you can pick up and read your journal to celebrate just how far you’ve come.

It’s such a rewarding experience to be able to review the growth and transformation you experienced in your journey toward spirit.

I personally keep a miracle log with me at all times. Every time I manifest a miracle, I write it down.

It’s my spiritual proof that I am being guided by a higher power and it catapults my energetic vibration back to the top of the Emotional Guidance Scale every single time I read it.

Step 5: Live Out Your Truth

The final step to starting your spiritual journey is to live out your truth.

The most important part of your spiritual journey is to apply what you’ve learned and to express your highest truth in your daily life.

This means you have to not only “talk the talk” but also “walk the walk”.

There are so many ways to integrate spirituality into your life, but these habits should be built up over time organically.

This means your sole purpose for these practices is to get closer to consciousness rather than forcing yourself to do them.

Some spiritual practices to integrate into your life are:

These practices will help you cultivate a deep sense of presence and connect with the God of your own understanding.

The deeper you journey within the self, the more you are compelled to live a life that’s in alignment with the truth of who you are—which is a spirit having a human experience.
